Khandowa tribe (Khandoya) Khandoya The  Khandoya , sometimes spelt Khandoa and occasionally pronounced Khandowa,  are extremely localized tribe, their name comes from the Punjabi word  khand,  meaning something sweet. According to their traditions, they are a clan of Chauhan Rajputs, who after wondering in from what is now Haryana settled in area near Chakwal in an area that had sweet water, which they called Khandoya or sweet water place. Other then Khandoya village, Khandoya are also found in the villages of  Bhalla,   Dhok Virk, Mari, and Trimni.  From Khandoya, the Khandoya spread to the Pind Dadan Khan plains, where the majority are still found. In Pind Dadan Khan tehsil of Jhelum, their villages include  Addowal, Dharyala Jalap, Jhuggian Syedan, Karyala Jalap, Kot Umar, Nawanloke and Pinnanwal . Chaudhry Anar Khan Khandowa – A Proud Veteran of the Khandowa Tribe, Born in 1940. His legacy of valor and dedication to his family and community continues to inspire. He served with distinction in the 1965 and 1971 wars of Pakistan, where his courage and commitment earned him numerous accolades. Chaudhry Anar Khan joined the Pakistan Army at the age of 15 in 1955, beginning a distinguished career that spanned several decades. He was a part of the Punjab Regiment and participated in both the 1965 Indo-Pak War and the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, where he was recognized for his exceptional bravery. For his valor, he was awarded a Sword of Honor and a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. In the 1971 War, his role was pivotal, and his contributions were acknowledged with the distinction of being promoted to the rank of Havilder.
